Laurie Poklop is a senior instructional designer in the Educational Technology Center at Northeastern University, where she consults with faculty on integrating technology into their teaching. She also develops and delivers training to faculty on designing and facilitating courses, either entirely online or with online components. She works with groups of faculty to redesign courses incorporating Web technologies and multimedia. Her current interests include the development of eportfolio systems and applications of Web 2.0 technologies in teaching. Prior to working at Northeastern, Laurie spent six years as director of consulting services at Instruction Set, a training company focused on the technology industry. In this capacity she managed the development of training for a broad range of companies, subject areas, and media. Laurie graduated from the M.Ed. program in Instructional Design at UMass Boston in 1994. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. degree in Higher Education Administration, with research interests in the areas of eportfolios and assessment.
