Linda Beith received her doctorate in instructional design of online learning from Capella University in Minnesota; Master’s degree in instructional design from University of Massachusetts at Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. She has been teaching online since 2001. Her doctoral dissertation is on hybrid faculty learning communities and she has been working in faculty development in higher education for almost 20 years. Currently Linda is the director of training and development at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Her interests include distance teaching and learning, learning communities, emerging technologies, interactive learning strategies and instructional technology and design. Her conference presentations have included faculty learning communities, utilizing games to foster interactivity, effective use of course management systems and a range of instructional technologies.
