- PAFG697 Women in Public Policy Decision-Making in a Global Perspective
- Course Description
- This course provides the tools necessary for policy formulation, analysis, implementation, and budgeting for women from a global perspective. The course consists of three parts. Part 1 presents an introduction to public policy decision making, including the understanding and importance of women in the decision-making process. Part 2 examines the ways women participate in the political process in order to influence public policies and the relationship between women’s political activities in social movements, interest groups, political parties, and the formation of women-friendly public policies. In Part 3, students will have the opportunity to examine and analyze from a gender perspective how budgets determine public policies, and to explore how they can change public policies in their own countries by gaining influence in the budgeting process.
