Studio on Nantucket: Summer Light

June 7 - 20, 2009

Nantucket Light 09 will be an intensive, in–depth painting experience that will use the Plein Air painting approach as a jumping–off point to the summer landscape.

Coastal Ecology

July 19 - August 1, 2009

This marine biology course serves as an introduction to field research methods and will familiarize students with the flora and fauna of the unique island of Nantucket.

Marine and Coastal Ecological Research

June 21 - July 4, 2009

Supervised research on the adaptations and interactions of organisms of the beaches, salt marshes, sand dunes, and embayments of Nantucket.

ArcPad Mobile GIS Software for Field Mapping Applications

August 3 - 22, 2009

We will study the concept and principles of GPS technology, acquire skills using Trimble GeoXH Explorer GPS units, examine post processing data correction methods, and learn how to integrate the GPS data into ESRI ArcMap using TerraSync and Pathfinder software.

The Adult as Learner

August 2 - 8, 2009

Students are introduced to the body of knowledge concerning adults as learners.

Communication Theory for Organizations

This course focuses on the study of communication as applied to instructional technology, and on theories of media communication.
