- How many credits are required to complete the certificate?
- The certificate is comprised of sixteen credits, five 3-credit courses, and one 1-credit course.
- If I am working full-time, will classes still be accessible for me?
- As most students enrolled in the program have work and other responsibilities during the day, courses are therefore scheduled in the late afternoon and evening.
- What kind of jobs will this certificate lead to?
- Graduates have found jobs in research, the social services, human services, community mental health, the criminal justice system, and the courts.
- If I obtain this certificate and then want to go on to a master’s, will my certificate courses count?
- If you choose to pursue a Master of Arts in Applied Sociology, through the Sociology Department or the Master of Science in Counseling, through the Department of Counseling and School Psychology, your credits can be applied to the Forensic Services track offered through either of those programs.
- How many semesters are there and when can I enroll?
- The Forensic Services Certificate program can be completed in one calendar year, though it is not necessary to do so. Applications for the Fall are due by June 1, November 1st for Spring admission, and February 14th for the Summer.
- Non-matriculated students have the option of taking two courses in the program prior to completing an application for acceptance into the program.
