Student Opportunities

Students in the Program study with faculty who are nationally recognized scholars and researchers in the fields of gender, politics, and public policy. You’ll take advanced interdisciplinary courses that combine the theory and practice of politics and policymaking. In addition to hearing from guest experts, as students in the program you will have priority access to on- and off-campus resources including, for example:
  • Intensive advising about internship placements, research interests, and professional goals.
  • Special guest lectures, colloquia, and networking events of the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy such as the Women's Research Forum, Law Careers for Women, and Mentoring for Women: Lessons from Management.
  • Opportunities to connect with faculty, researchers, and other students at the McCormack Graduate School’s master and PhD programs in policy studies at events such as Veil Politics in Liberal Democratic States and Dangerous Intersection: Where Media and Public Policy Collide.
  • The Women in Politics and Public Policy Library — with information resources you need as well as meeting space and computers.
